Human Rights Day 2025
ARC NI and Team TILII are celebrating Human Rights Day 2025
Designing Logos for BHSCT Learning Disability Nurses!
We are a group of people with a learning disability, autism and other support needs who speak up for ourselves and others. We’ve worked with Learning Disability Nurses many times and we know how important they are. They really understand people with a learning disability and give the right support at the right time. They listen, they care, and they make a big difference.
In fact, we think Learning Disability Nurses are superheroes in disguise!
We’ve done lots of work with nurses before. We’ve helped deliver training, taken part in workshops, and made films to raise awareness. One of our proudest moments was giving a talk at Stormont when the Equity of Access and Outcome Report was launched. We shared why Learning Disability Nurses matter so much – and our voices were heard!
Now, the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust (BHSCT) Learning Disability Nurses are running a competition to design a brand-new logo, and we were excited to get involved.
We’ve been working with Lou on this creative project. She encouraged each of us to design our own logos. We loved getting creative and expressing our ideas in different ways. Then Lou had a great idea, she asked us to mash some of our individual designs together to make a few extra-special group logos. We think they look amazing and show real teamwork.
The deadline to send in our logos is the 6th of June, so we’ve been working hard to get them ready.
If we win, we’ll get £50 and a teddy bear with the new logo on it! We’ve already decided to use the prize money to buy snacks and treats for the group, because we like to share!
Hilary said, “It feels good to do something creative and support the nurses who help us.”
Win or not, we’re proud to take part and show our support for the brilliant Learning Disability Nurses.
Good luck everyone. We can’t wait to see the winning design!
