Helping People Plan for a Better Future

Vela Microboards is a Northern Ireland charity. It establishes individual Microboards to help a person with difficulties in their life overcome everyday challenges and realise their potential.

A Microboard is a small circle of support made up of family, friends and the wider community. They are of significant importance to an individual in making everyday choices, particularly at times of transition and crisis. Some examples of supporting a person include:

• Person-Centred approaches to planning
• Decision making and advocacy
• Budget management e.g. Direct Payment or Self Directed Support
• Childhood to adulthood planning
• Traditional services to community living
• Support planning
