Future Home Guide Easy Read Launch

ARC NI was delighted to host the launch of Learning Disability Forum’s easy read version of the Future Home Guide.

The guide was co-produced by Staff from the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, TILII and family carers. It aims to help people with a learning disability to find homes that meet their needs.  By setting out clear information about housing options is helps people find the right fit for them.

TILII Translates is ARC NI’s Accessible Information Service that co-produces easy reads.  They translated the Future Home Guide into an easy read so the information was easier to understand.

The guide is now being distributed throughout the learning disability community, to make sure that everyone has access to this valuable resource.  A copy of the guide can be downloaded here.

The launch event on the 18th June was full of fun and laughter as participants celebrated the publication as part of Learning Disability Week 2024.  This year’s theme ‘Do You See Me’ felt fitting. We discussed the importance of accessible information, co-production, support and inclusion for people with a learning disability in our communities.

We are proud to be part of this forum and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will continue to have on the lives of many.
