Adult Safeguarding Champions (ASC) Peer Network

Bringing together Adult Safeguarding Champions and Deputy Champions

This Network gives Adult Safeguarding Champions a chance to meet with each other and the Department of Health’s policy team.  This is the team responsible for drafting the Adult Safeguarding Bill.

It aims to

  • make preventative and protective practice consistent across Northern Ireland
  • showcase best practice at an organisational level
  • and identify opportunities for collaboration and learning.

Issues we have discussed include

  • managing Trust relationships
  • differences in referral forms and screening processes
  • and the introduction of CCTV in people’s homes.

ARC NI submitted a response to the public consultation on a draft Adult Protection Bill and most recently were invited to present oral evidence at the NI Executive’s Health Committee.
