2023-26 Strategy Shows New Direction

Sep 29, 2023

Launched at our AGM, we shared our new strategy which focuses on human rights, and explained our thoughts and plans for the next three years.

At ARC’s Annual General Meeting a new Strategy for the organisation was launched.

Throughout 2022, ARC talked to lots of different people to ask them what they thought about our draft strategy.  We did this through events, meetings and 1:1 discussions.  In total 208 people told us what they thought.  105 were people supported; 6 were family carers; 56 were providers; 4 were regulators; 9 were government staff; 5 were commissioners; and 23 were ARC staff.

We pulled together the information we were told in England, Scotland and of course, Northern Ireland.  We accepted that we may not be able to change everything that was raised but that we would look at big issues.  These were things that were raised more than once, by different people.

In summary, we were told that people want information to help them have more choice and control to be better included equally in the community.

Over the next three years, across the UK we will focus on this to try to help improve the lives of people with a learning disability, autistic people and those with other support needs and their families.
